Dedicacion del temple de Corboda! (Week 28)

Hola mi querida familia,

This week was super great! I really enjoyed the opportunity to watch the cultural event of the Temple Cordoba. We watched it from the church building through satellite feed on the big presentation screen. It started with a few remarks from President Uchtdorf, which was really good. After the youth performed all of the traditional dances of Argentina. They had a couple of songs sung that are traditional to Argentina. They finsihed off with a primary song about families. They  projected a photo of the temple on a screen on the floor and all the youth surrounding the screen waved lights and handkerchiefs. I could feel the spirit very strongly. I had the chills and a little lump in my throat. It helped strengthen my testimony of temples and gave me more motivation to continue working to help the people we are working with go to the temple. I also really enjoyed the opportunity to watch the dedication of the temple in Cordoba. We watched it in the church. It really was a blessing for me. I felt like I was literally in the temple. I could feel the peace and tranquility of the temple. This experience gave me what I needed to refresh and renew myself. I love the temples and testify that they are literally the house of the Lord. We can go to the tmeple and leave all of our worldy cares outside. We receive guidance, peace, and comfort, and the blessings of eternity. Go to the temple as often as you can.

This week we visited Fernando. He is progressing and is close to having his decision to be baptized really firm. We were talking to the wife of his brother, who is a member, and she said that Fernanco visited their house this past week. He said that he was going to be baptized on the thirtieth of May and that we the missionaries did not know yet. But then yesterday when we were at his house for the lesson we were asking him about how he felt for his baptism and he told us he still walkn't quite sure of his decision. So we were a bit confused and sad, but we are keep working hard and praying that he will make the decision to be baptized on the thirtienth.

We are visiting the --- family. Jose and Axel were recently baptized and they are doing well. They helped clean the church for the dedication of the tmeple. Also, they attended the cultural event and the dedication! It was a really sprititual experience for Jose. He really wants an eternal famly. We are working with his wife, Mabel. She is a member of the Jehovah Witness church. She is set in her ways, but is slowly coming around. She always listens and participates in the lessons. She likes to compare the doctorine and scriptures. We are also working with the other two sons Lucas and Hernan who want to be baptized.

Nazarena and Marinao, recent converts, had the opportunity to go to the temple and do baptisms for the dead this week. It was a wonderful experience for them. It also helped them have a more meaninful and spiritual experience in the dedication ceremony for the temple.

We visited the familia Sabor, less actives. They want us to go to their house and accompay them to the church on Sunday! Yay!

This week was interesting becasue we were without power for two and a half days. It was an adventure to do all of our nightly planning in the dark and get ready for the day in the dark. Luckily it was light enough in the morning to study by the light from the window. Also, our food went bad, so that is a bummer, but oh well! This experience helped remind me how truly grateful I am to be blessed to live in a time when we have the convenience of electricity in the house.

Con amor,
Hermana Burr
